Happy 8th Anniversary to us!

Once upon a time there was a young maiden named Jamie who worked as a Manager in Training at Foot Locker in Fashion Place Mall. One fine day she answered the phone, saying what she always did... "Its a great day at Fashion Place Foot Locker, this is Jamie, how can I help you?" and the reply she heard, changed this young maidens life forever!! "Hey baby, whatchya wearin'?" was what she heard from the other end of the phone... "Nothin' but a smile!" was her reply. Odd conversation you would think... but then she knew he too was a Foot Locker worker! This young man named Jonathan was a manager at Cache Valley Mall Foot Locker, and he asked to talk to his young apprentice that was training at the same store. She gave Sir Tim the phone, and Jonathan asked this young lad if the maiden that answered the phone was cute... Sir Tim handed the phone back to Jamie, and he then asked her out to dinner... a blind date you could say!! She happily agreed and they both went on with their days.

September 29, 1999 was the date that was set for this dinner. Jamie asked Jonathan what he looked like, so she would know who she was looking for. He told her, "I will be wearing jeans, a Navy shirt, my doc martin boots, and my hat on backwards... I look like Ricky Martin!" Jamie got very excited at the fact that she would be going out with a Ricky Martin look-a-like! (this was when he was popular) She dressed herself in a cute outfit, and got in her car for a long journey from Provo to Layton to meet him at the Outback Steakhouse! When she arrived, she walked up to the entrance of the resturaunt, and saw a gentleman wearing jeans, a navy shirt, brown boots, and a hat on backwards... but he didn't look like Ricky Martin!! She said with hesitation in her voice... "Jonathan?" It was him, and they went in and got seated. From the minute they sat down, all the barriers that you face on the first date were all knocked down. They laughed and talked and ate... dessert first (cheesecake with chocolate and strawberries) followed by Steak and Potatoes!! After 2 1/2 hours at the resturaunt, the two took a stroll to the mall and walked around a bit. When Jamie and her friends used to go to the mall, they would go in jewlery stores, and pretend they were getting engaged and try on rings. After telling Jonathan this he promptly took her hand and led her into a fancy jewlery store, and proceeded to trick this poor sales person into the fact that they were getting engaged. He knew exactly what to say and do, seeing that he had been married before. Finally as the sun was setting, they walked back to the resturaunt, Jamie in her socks because her boots that she wore, made her taller than Jonathan. They stopped at the corner across from the establishment... Jonathan standing on thre curb, and Jamie standing in the gutter, and had thier first kiss!! They parted ways, and exchanged phone numbers. Her heart skipped a beat, and she had a perma smile on her face the whole way home.

They ended up seeing eachother every chance they had. Jonathan took her to Chicago to meet his family, which was won over immediatly(of course). Jonathan has three amazing sons who he didn't want to just introduce to "anyone", and he set up a dinner date with them so that they could meet Jamie. This was the most important test of all... no preasure!! The boys and Jamie hit it off, and had a great time! (thanks to McDonalds play land) Then in June of 2000, Jonathan sat Jamie down and said, "Jamie...(stuff about not needing or wanting these other girls that I was competing with... which I don't want to bore you with)... I have thought about how life would be without you and it just makes me want to cry!! So, I was thinking... should I buy a car or a ring?"with a great big smile on his face!! Seeing that she had been driving from her house to Logan twice a week for 9 months, with butterflies in her stomach... she said, "I would love a ring!" Then she promptly ran down to her car, opened the trunk and pulled out ring adds that she had been collecting over time, and showed him which ring she wanted!! They then busted up laughing hysterically that she had kept these, and even had some cut out with holes in the middle... as to see what they would look like on. A few days(a sunday to be exact) later he made the drive down to have a visit with Jamie's father. Though he was terrified... he did it, and her father said, "yes"... but then they called Jamie out and her father told her that it was up to her to talk to her mother about it!! The next day (Monday) they went shopping for a ring... she got to pick out her band... and he picked the diamond! Wednesday, he drove down a surprised Jamie at work and took her on her break(again), down to the jewlery store where her ring was waiting to be picked up! Since on thier first date they went ring shopping, he thought it a perfect thing, so kneel down in the store on one knee and purpose the proper way! He put that ring on her finger and there it stayed... not being taken off except for the night before the wedding!

On friday, September 29, 2000 (he had to wait until she was atleast 20... he was 34) Jamie and Jonathan became husband and wife at the White Willow Mansion in Provo, UT. They were married by Judge Lynn Davis, who also happened to be the judge that was over the adoption of her sister's by her dad. Exactly 1 year after they met, they were in love and together forever!!

Now fast forward 8 years... a son who is a sophmore in college, another who just got his driver's license, one who is a freshman in high school, two beautiful daughters, the same old ratty neon, a SUV, an apartment, and two houses later.... they are still in love more than ever. They are best friends who could not live without the other!

***I am not going to do a big romantic note to Jonathan on here because he won't read it... rather I just wanted to share our story, and some pictures!***

Pumpkin Paradise...

So, fall is in full swing at the Johnson home! Yesterday, we went to Zollinger Farms... a little produce farm on highway 89, and got some great pumpkins!! They have ginormous "punkins" for only $4 a piece. We were looking at Sam's and they cost $7.88 for "jumbo" ones that are really only med-large ones. We got 8 pumpkins, and some gourds and little pumpkins to decorate with. Then, along with that great find, we got some fresh corn on the cob, that was 13 ears for $3... unheard of!! They had squash, and other things there for way good prices! There was a gingantic Banana squash for only $3, that could feed like 8 people. If I wasn't the only one in my house that would eat it, I would have bought that in a second!! I am pretty pleased with how our house is looking now with all of our fall/halloween decor out. I went around and took a ton of pictures to post... but then Jonathan had to redecorate because I made it look too cluttered, so it isn't the same! Also, I figure that you probably don't need nor want to see all our Halloween decorations. But, I did want to post some pics of these great pumpkins and other great finds!!

Our "punkins" that the kids helped pick out... there is one for each of us and also one for our friend Rick that is staying with us.

These are just a few of the squashes and gourds that I got. I love them, they are very beautiful!

Beene picked this "punkin" out and carried it with one hand to the car... I asked her if I could help her get it in the car, and she said no, she wanted to do it on her own. Then, she realized that she needed some help, but only from daddy!!! It has been officially dubbed "Beene's Punkin"!

This one is mine... it is the biggest of the bunch, and this is where Beene and Julles wanted us to put it. Then the girls showed us where to put the little ones around it. What fun it was to decorate with them. Also pictured is my "Prince Charming Frog", Jonathan got this for me when we moved into our first house so that I could have a yard ornament... it has since been used only as a "door step" ornament, because we love it so much! When the girls were little, they would sit and kiss it... they were hoping for a handsome prince to come and rescue them from the parrils of babydom, I guess!

I love fall, and everything that comes with it... the smells, the cool air, the fact that you don't need air conditioning or heat, and that your house smells so fresh and clean from the window's being open all day. I love the food, the treats... especially the treats!! I love that the neighborhood is crawling with kids now that the weather is just right, and that I can hear them laughing through my open windows. I JUST LOVE FALL!!!

I hope you are enjoying yourselves and this wonderful weather!

Crazy beginning to a day!!!

Today, I took the kids to school and left the car running while I ran them to the door. Beene had a hard time staying today, so I stayed with her for a few minutes. Well, I got back out to the car and the car was turned off... I thought I had maybe turned it off on accident before getting out! I got in to leave, and the stupid car would NOT start. It would not turnover!! So, I go to call Jonathan and I had left so quickly and forgot my phone. So, I had to go back in the house to use Lisa's phone, hoping that Beene would not start crying again. I called Jonathan, he came with his friend Rick, who is living with us... he used to be a mechanic. So, they came and looked at the car and Rick said that it has something to do with the fuel intake of the car. So, we put the Explorer in neutral and rolled it down the street a little, because we were kinda blocking Lisa's driveway.

We went home and called the towing company, and they were going to pick it up from Lisa's. I went back to Lisa's and put the keys in the car, and went to run errands. (I am glad Jonathan's car is running atleast!!) When I went and picked the kids up from school, Lisa told me about their hands on learning day. She is so great, she can turn anything into a "learning experience". She said that when the tow truck came, the kids wanted to watch it. Well, this man let the kids help him, Lisa had told him that they were learning about rules and obedience... This man told the kids about everything he was doing, and told them that he had to follow the rules so that he or the car wouldn't get hurt. Julles, however was not having it... She balled the whole time, and would not let go of Lisa. She was worried that he was taking our car, and that we wouldn't get it back!!! She would not help, and didn't want to watch!! The poor little thing... Beene was just worried that I didn't have my car!!

They towed it down to this great little shop here in town, and he said that it started for him... he thinks it just needs a tune-up!! What a relief... Rick was saying that a "fuel problem" could cost around $600!! Not what I was planning on today at all!!! How funny is it when your day gets so off schedule!!!

What dessert are you???

Okay, I saw this on one of my blogstalking blogs, and I loved it. So I am copying them.

If all of the eight desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which would you choose (sorry, you can only pick one)! Trust me...this is very accurate. Pick your dessert, and then look to see what psychiatrists think about you. REMEMBER - No Cheating. Make your choice before you check the meaning. After taking this dessert personality test, respond to this post and tell me what you got!

Here are your choices:
1. Angel Food Cake
2. Brownies
3. Lemon Meringue Pie
4. Vanilla Cake With Chocolate Icing
5. Strawberry Short Cake
6. Chocolate Cake With Chocolate Icing
7. Ice Cream
8. Carrot Cake

No, you can't change your mind once you scroll down, so think carefully about what your choice will be. OK - Now that you've made your choice, this is what the researchers say about you...

1. ANGEL FOOD CAKE -- Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm and fuzzyitems.. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times.

2. BROWNIES -- You are adventurous, love new ideas, and are a champion of underdogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up you whip out your saber. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction. You tend to be very loyal.

3. LEMON MERINGUE -- Smooth, sexy, & articulate with your hands, you are an excellent caregiver and a good teacher. But don't try to walk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, you set your own style because you do your own thing. You shine when it comes to helping others and have many friends.

4. VANILLA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING -- Fun-loving, sassy, humorous, not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lacking motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.

5. STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE -- Romantic, warm, loving. You care about other people, can be counted on in a pinch and expect the same in return. Intuitively keen. You can be very emotional at times but a true person in every way. You like to do things for yourself and help others learn about themselves.

6. CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING-- Sexy; always ready to give and receive. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You can appear to have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not settle for anything average in life. Love to laugh.

7. ICE CREAM -- You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.

8. CARROT CAKE -- You are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. You are fun to be with... People like to hang out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. You have many loyal friends. You were meant to lead and teach others. A wonderful role model.

I am CHOCOLATE CAKE with CHOCOLATE FROSTING!!! I would say it is accurate all except the cold exterior part... I think I am pretty friendly at first glance!!! I am warm through and through... I think!!

Leave me a comment of what you are!!! I'd love to know!

Sundays with Sarah...

My niece Sarah is going to USU and comes to our house on Sunday's for dinner. My girls love having her here every weekend. They ask me on sunday's if it is the "Sarah day". She plays with them, and keeps them totally entertained while I finish the last touches on dinner. I love having her here with us. These are some pics that we snapped this last sunday.

The girls love to watch You Tube with her on her laptop!!

Fairy God Sarah!! I was on the phone, and Beene was crying and Sarah was trying to make her happy again... when I walked into the room, this is what I found!! After this, they all wanted to watch Enchanted!! Isn't she pretty??

Costumes... check!!

Well, the job of getting the kids Halloween costumes is now done!! Last year, we waited WAY to long, and had a hard time getting what they wanted!! So, doing the shopping right after the stores stock the shelves is the best bet... especially in Logan. We went to Wal Mart yesterday for a light bulb and allergy medicine, and left spending WAY more than we planned. (does that ever happen to anyone else besides me??) But, we couldn't pass up the chance to get the girls exactly what they wanted!!!

Here is what they BOTH chose:
The Dress:

The wig... I never thought I would actually buy one of these for my little girls!!

The microphone... every little diva needs one!!

The whole shabang!!!

The BIG Hanna double take!!!

So, on Halloween we are going to have two little Hannah's running around our house!! I would love to take a picture of the two of them in their little costumes to post... however, I would never be able to get them off them and the hair would be a rats nest and the microphone would no longer be glittery!! So, we'll have to wait until Halloween to do that! But, I thought I would share ourl little find.

This was the conversation that was had on the way home from Wal Mart in the car...

Beene: "Daddy, I am so excited to be Miley Cirus... are you going to be the prince again?"

Daddy: "She doesn't have a prince sweety, she has a daddy and a brother!"

Beene: "Well ok, then can you find a Hannah's daddy costume to buy?"

Mommy: "I could probably get a Billy Ray Cyrus costume online..."

Daddy: "No you couldn't!!"

Beene: "Daddy, that isn't very nice!"

Couldn't you just see Jonathan with Billy Ray hair?? That would be priceless!!! I have yet to be told what I am supposed to be... I guess that I will find out sooner or later!

Upcoming Girls Night Out!!

October's Girls Night Out is planned!! We are going to be doing "Gift Bags Galore", Amy has these cute bags that you make out of scrapbook paper! The bag in this picture is made out of only TWO 12x12 papers, plus some add on's to make it even more cute!! Stampin' Up has some really cute paper's in this catalog, and I love the different possibilities there are!!

So, here are the details:

When: Wednesday, October 8

Time: 7:00 p.m

Where: The GNO house (which is what the new neighbor said, when I told her where I lived!)

If any of you are needing some girl time, and can make it... you are welcome!! She will send home the template with you as well!!! FUN, FUN times!!

Almost 2 years later...

Since we moved to this house, our third car garage has been unusable for cars. While we were packing up our other house we marked boxes for garage sale. Since we were moving in the winter (which I'll never do AGAIN!!), we couldn't have one. We were going to have a GS last spring with our neighborhood and we ended up not participating because we were all sick!! Then, two of our neighbors asked us this last few months to add stuff to theirs, and we declined! I don't know why... I guess it is just a lot of work to go through everything and price it all.

Well, we decided to do a big "fall cleaning" the other day, and we started on the third car garage. We started putting stuff in the back of the car heading for D.I. Our new neighbors came home and noticed all the stuff in our car, and told us they are having a garage sale in two weeks. I reluctantly asked Jonathan if he wanted to do it with them, and I say reluctantly because he usually is the one who doesn't want to do it... I have been wanting to since we have lived here. Well, he shocked me to pieces and said he totally wants to do it!! So, out of the car came loads of stuff and we piled it up nicely on the side of the garage. Then, after the garage, we started on the cold storage room, that has been lined with boxes on both sides. Well, I think we went through like 60 or 70 boxes. We put things away in thier places that we wanted to keep and the stuff we weren't sure about... to the nicely piled "to sale" items. I am so proud of us!! Now, we have to price it all, but that won't be too bad.

So, our official date is Saturday, September 27th!! I am wierdly excited about it!! I think it is because after we get rid of all of this stuff, we could actually fit a car in the garage (not that we have one to park in there)!! Jonathan has even decided to part with most of his mesh office supply things!! You have no idea how happy I am about that!! I am going to be selling my Mary Kay product that I have left that day as well, at my cost!! So, if you are around, and are looking for some "treasures", come up to my house between 8 and 1!

We're finished...

Last night was a momentous occassion. Jonathan and I finished the last season of the Seinfeld Series. It has taken us about 3 weeks, but we have watched every episode ever made. We watched all the extra's on each disc, and loved it!! I thought it was cute, Beene knows all the characters by name and talks about them a lot. She loved watching them as much as we did. I have a few to watch, that he watched without me, but not too many!! Now it is on to The X-files. I think he'll be watching those by himself though, they kinda creep me out a little. We never thought we would be the ones who owned a complete series of a TV show. We are keeping our eyes open for The Friends series, that we can get a good deal on. When we get that, you won't hear from me on here until I watch them all... that is my favorite!!

Good Touch, Bad Touch...

Since the kids have been learning about The Joy of The Body, Carrie had a week dedicated to keeping your body safe. She called The Child and Family Support Center here in Logan and asked if they had anything that they could teach the kids about Good Touch/Bad Touch. Well, they did and it was wonderful.

Miss Hillary came mon, wed, and today for a half hour each day. She talked to them about Good Touches... which include: hugs, kisses, high fives, and tickles; then there were the Bad touches... which include: hitting, pushing, and poking; then there were Confusing Touches... which she told them can feel good or bad, but ALWAYS makes our feelings inside feel yucky. They learned about Child Abuse, she also gave me a really good idea for talking about "private parts", which is anywhere your swimming suit covers. She read them stories, and had pictures, and the kids loved it, and listened and remembered very well.

Today, was the last day that Miss Hillary came, and she did a review of what they had learned the last two times. I was amazed at how much the kids remembered. She gave them a card with the Body Safety Rules on it. I thought I would share what those rules are:

1. IT'S MY BODY! I have the right to know ALL the safety rules.
2. The "UH-OH" FEELING: If I feel like something's wrong, then I'm right. Sometimes I need to ASK QUESTIONS.
3. I can say "NO!" to sexual abuse or to bad touch.
4. I will TELL SOMEONE if I am sexually abused or hurt.
5. IT IS NEVER MY FAULT!!!

The kids have these down very well!! I am really glad that we did this little class, it was very helpful, and taught at just the right time in their little lives.

THANKS TO MISS HILLARY AND CARRIE!!

Left to Right: Beene, Ellie, Cara, Caleb, Miss Hillary and her helper Meredith, Abby, and Julles.

Another one in the books...

Once again, Amy was brilliant in her efforts to make Girls Night Out a huge success!!! All of us were in total withdrawl since we hadn't had one since June. We had a great time as always! We got to try different techniques including: Markering, scoring, and sponging. They are beautiful cards that I am going to enjoy giving out!!

Our conversations last night made me laugh as always, and we had some great discussions. We talked about Twilight, and I found out about Midnight Sun, and I am going to have to start reading that ASAP!! We are all going to go to the midnight showing of the movie when it comes out!! It is going to be a big neighborhood party!!

Thanks to all you fabulous girls who came out last night. It was fun to have new faces, and some faces that have not been able to come in a while. Next month we are doing Gift Bags Galore... bags made out of no more than three sheets of 12x12 paper! So cute!!!

Field Trip to the Farm

This month in school the kids are learning about The Joy of the Body. This last week, they learned about "good foods" and "sometimes foods". Carrie grew up on a farm in Idaho, just outside of Preston, and her parents are still there. She arranged for the kids to go to Grandma Iva and Grampa Niel's farm for a day. It was the funnest field trip I have ever been on.

We drove up there friday morning and got there around noon. Her dad met us down the road from their farm, and showed the kids what wheat looks like before it is ground into flour. He showed us how to hull the wheat by hand, and he had a bucket of it, that the kids got to touch, and taste. It was quite yummy!! Then it was back in the car and up the canyon, which was absolutely beautiful!! Their farm used to be a dairy farm, but now it is just used as a "hobby farm". They had the most beautiful garden I have ever seen. Her mom won for fabulous tomato's at the county fair this summer. When we got there, Caleb showed the kids the ropes of his grandparents farm, where the horses were, and where the swings were, and all the other fun, kid places to check out. Grandpa Niel helped the kids pick fresh veggies from the garden. They picked; cucumbers, zucchinni, squash, and corn for our lunch. The kids got to husk the corn themselves, and Carrie's niece ate an entire ear before it was cooked. While Carrie and Gina cooked lunch, I helped Iva and Niel with the kids. Iva did 4-wheeler rides, and Niel did horseback rides. The kids were in heaven.

They jumped on the trampoline, and swung on the tree swings, and ran their little hearts out!! Carrie had brought up some chicken and she put it on the grill, and then Gina, who was a chef before she came to Utah, cooked up the squash and zucchinni. They boiled the corn, and cut up some tomato's and cucumber's. The kids could have eaten that corn all day and been just fine. We had a yummy lunch, and then Grandma Iva picked a few fresh Watermelon's from the garden and we ate those for dessert. The weather was absolutely perfect, we had a nice breeze and the sun was out as well. Before we left the kids played on the huge stacks of hay and then Grandpa Niel would clap his hands twice and the kids would jump off into his arms. We ended when the kids started fighting and crying, but all in all we had a great time!!!

Thanks to Carrie and her parents for a wonderful day!! Thanks to Gina for making such yummy veggies!!!

WAHOO!!!!

I am officially DONE with the Twilight books!!! I LOVED all of them. For me, this is a huge accomplishment, since it takes a lot to get me to read!!! It only took me two weeks to read all 4 of them. I was sad to finish the series, because I was so involved with the character's that I didn't want to say "goodbye"!! Sad, I know!!! I am so excited for the movie to come out!! I hope they stay true to the book, wow... never thought I would say that!!! Back are the days of "real life" and cleaning and actual days that don't run together. My family all yelled in celebration when I finshed on Thursday Night, now they can have their wife and mommy back!!

Family Update:

Since I have been MIA from blogging this last little bit, with only a few posts here and there, not my usual three or four a week, I thought I would just do a quick update on our family for you all. (Wow, that was a REALLY long sentence.)

Beenie and Julles: They are both loving school, and amaze me at the things that they are able to do. Beene has the Pledge of Allegence memorized, and Julles can do it with some help. Since they are not going to ever do it in public school, Carrie thought it would be great to teach it to them now. I agree!! They are learning to write letters, and you can definatly tell the age difference in the girls there, but still... I am very proud! They are loving the songs they have been hearing at "school days" and sing them at the top of thier lungs. On Friday we get to go to a farm, hopefully it won't be freezing.

Joseph and Jason: I am feeling really bad... I didn't to a seperate post on these two sweet boys of ours, it was their birthday last thursday!! Joseph is now 19, and Jason is 14! A seperate post is coming to highlight these great boys during this week. I have to dig up "embarassing" pictures of when they were little, and snap a new pic of them if I can. They also share a birthday with their grandpa Johnson. How special, to have all three of them honored on such a great day!!! School has now started for both of them, and they are enjoying it... if that is possible for school!!!

Jeremy: He has successfully talked his mom into letting him go to Logan High, instead of Mountain Crest this year. I am quite proud of his total commitment to this idea, he has been trying since they moved out of Logan High boundaries. This year she let him, so now for his senior year, he will be with lots of his friends and he is ONE HAPPY KID!!! He gets up at 6:00 in the morning to go and catch the CVTD (the county bus) to get to school every morning. This is nice, that way Jenni doesn't have to drive him to and from Logan daily. He actually enjoys the bus quite a bit, and says even when he gets his license (which we are crossing our fingers, he gets soon) he will still ride the bus because gas is so expensive.

Jonathan: Is working from home, and is enjoying not driving so much. He loves being home with the family, and likes making his own schedule. He is however starting working down in Salt Lake three days a week next week, because being home is hard, when he would rather be with the family than doing his job. So, he's going to work mon, tues, and wednesday down there, but it isn't bad.

ME: Well, I have been a busy girl, READING!!! I know, i have said that I don't like to read, but I started the Twilight books, and I am hooked!! I cannot put them down. I have been staying up until like 3 or 4 in the morning trying to finish these things. My friend Emily said it the best when she said that we were lucky to have started them now, when they are all available, because now we don't have to wait a year to find out the end of the story. I have started the 4th and final book. So, until I get this book done, I won't be doing anymore of these LONG posts, if any!! I am hoping to finish today or tomorrow. Jonathan will be glad to have me back from the land of the reading soon! We were laughing last night because I have been dreaming the story line, and I am in it, I have lines and all!! Everyone needs an "Edward" right?

That is our family's update!! Until I blog again... ta, ta!!!
