I was reading my friend Jessica's blog (you can link to it on Lovely Reads), and saw that she does these great actvities with her boys once a week. She makes a theme of it. There is a story, an activity, and a snack. I LOVE the idea. So, the girls and I made a list and this is the one they chose to do first!
Monkey Day: Curious George
We started our morning off with Banana Muffins, of course! Monkey's LOVE banana's!!
Then, we made paper plate monkey masks... which were super duper cute, but I didn't get a picture of them... dangit!
Then we read a Curious George story! The girls love to read, and it makes it more fun when we make a whole day out of it!!
Then, for our snack we made Chocolate dipped Banana pops! They were fun to make... the girls loved dipping them in the chocolate and seeing how fast it hardened because the banana's were frozen.
They were not as tasty as we hoped, but they were definatly FUN!!!
We can't wait for our next one!!
Jessica has great ones that she has done, but she got a lot of her idea's from ww.homemakingfun.blogspot.com. She has links to publisher's where you can download activities to go with different books. She has some super fun things you can do with your kids this summer!
