August 9, 2010:
My sweet little Jaxson Boxley Edward Johnson, better known to everyone as Buddy is ONE today!!! So bittersweet for me. But, so exciting!!! The girls were planning his birthday for weeks. Their friends even brought him gifts, most of which we had to give back to them, because they belonged to their families...but it was the thought that counted... right?
Our day was so fun! Sorry, there are lots of pictures, but he only turns 1 once!!!
We made his cupcakes, and decorated this one just for him!
We went to the Bluebird Resturaunt and sat at the soda fountain and had ice cream... well, the girls and I had ice cream... Jonathan and Buddy had a Cherry Ironport (old fashioned flavored drink) and a horhound candy stick! He must be an old soul... she likes all the "olden day" flavors! But, he was in HEAVEN!!
After Bluebird, we headed home for the much anticipated presents. The girls were very insistant that they pick out thier own presents for Buddy. They were so thoughtful, and it took FOREVER for them both to decide... but they were great and he loved them!
Present #1: a Turtle shape sorter from Beene
She was more than happy to teach him how to use it, and he was more than happy to play with it! Love that tongue!
Present #2 was from Julles...
Can you FEEL the excitement!!
Present #3 from Mom and Dad, and he is excited about it...
A Lego (Duplo) Toy Story Train set complete with Woody, Buzz and Jessie. He loved it and the girls had fun building it with him. It is tradition that the boys get atleast one Lego for thier bday's every year.
After presents and letting our Bluebird stop settle in our stomachs it was time for the Buddy Birthday Dinner! He LOVES noodles... so we made Mama's (Jonathan's mom's) Mac n' Cheese! It was a huge hit... he had two plates of it!!!
Lovin his mac n' cheese with his new Cars plate and spoon! He loves any kind of car or truck... so it was only fitting to get his very own plate with his very favorite things on it!
Then came the CUPCAKE!!
I got a great video of him eating it... it showed how freaked out he was by the frosting, and not wanting to touch it, and then him devouring it!! But, it was in my old phone, and it is BROKEN!! So, I am hoping I can find it somewhere... it was so cute! What a wonderful day for a spectacular little boy! He is the Buddy and we love him!!!
